The Firex 498 accessory module connects Firex smoke alarms to lights, sirens, exit signals, escape lights, exhaust fans, and other AC powered auxiliary devices and enables the different devices to interact. The 498 can turn lights on when a Firex smoke alarm is activated and off when deactivated. The relay is compact and will fit in most junction boxes. The Firex 498 replaces one smoke alarm load in an interconnected string.
This module can only be used with Firex® Smoke Alarm nos. G-6 (0406, 0407), G-18 (0418, 0419), G-40 (0440, 0441), G-120 (0420) or FX 1218 (0440, 0441). These are low-voltage interconnect smoke alarms, and will have only yellow interconnect wire.
CAUTION: Do not interconnect this accessory module 0498 to Models FXW-1A, FX1014, FX1020, FX1106 or any other manufacturers units. Doing so will permanently damage the accessory module.
