CARBON DIOXIDE-CO2 (BC) Fire ExtinguishersThese fire extinguishers work by taking away the oxygen element of the fire triangle and also remove the heat component with a very cold discharge. Carbon dioxide is a gas, thus leaving no residue for cleanup.
Carbon Dioxide can be used on Class B & C fires. They are usually ineffective on Class A fires.
(The Fire Triangle consists of OXYGEN - HEAT - FUEL and CHEMICAL REACTION. Remove any one element to extinguish a fire.)
